Are you tired of feeling burned-out and overwhelmed? It’s time for a wake-up call, ladies!
The sad truth is that we’ve been brainwashed to believe that putting ourselves last is a virtue, but it’s actually the biggest scam in history. Our conditioning has created a society of burned-out, exhausted women who are too tired to chase their dreams and depleted to enjoy life’s little pleasures.
It’s time to break free from this vicious cycle and realize that taking care of ourselves is necessary and a basic human right. We deserve to be happy, healthy, and fulfilled, and we can only achieve that by putting ourselves first.
It’s like being on a plane and being told to put on your oxygen mask before helping others, yet we often forget to apply this to our lives.
So let’s start a revolution and embrace radical self-care because if we don’t prioritize our well-being, who will?
But here’s the thing: taking care of yourself isn’t selfish; it’s a revolutionary act. So, ladies, it’s time to take a stand, put yourself first, and embrace the power of radical self-care. I have the answer for you, so keep reading.
The truth is that if you don’t take care of yourself first, you can’t take care of anyone else!
So here are my top 19 for taking care of you. Please hit reply, email me back, and let me know which ones you’re going to focus on.
Isa Herrera’s 19 Game-Changing Radical Self-Care Tips That Will Make You Feel Like a Queen
Radical Self-Care Tip #1– Laugh
Heard any good jokes lately? Recent studies at several prominent U.S. universities have shown that there are measurable benefits to laughter. A good laugh can cause the release of dopamine, which in general, makes us feel good. Other studies have tested individuals’ saliva after watching a funny movie and have found increased levels of immunoglobulins and T-cells, which means laughing can actually boost your immune system. Lately, I’ve been watching funny movies with my family, and we all laugh together. Try it!
Radical Self-Care Tip #2– Relax!
Stress actually causes your body to age faster, not to mention it can impair your memory. Work in a garden, go for a walk, or write in a journal. Try anything that helps you relax, as lower levels of stress will help you live longer and feel more grounded. I like to do micro-meditations throughout the day that focus simply on my breathing for 1-5 minutes. It’s a quick exercise that helps me feel calm, cool, and collected.
Radical Self-Care Tip #3– An apple a day keeps the reaper away.
Apples, my friends, are full of quercetin, which is by far the strongest of all the antioxidants. Quercetin helps prevent both blood clots and cancer. The pectin found on the apple’s skin is also beneficial in lowering cholesterol levels. I like to use apples in my salads, and it’s now become stable. I eat an apple daily, and I love how it picks me up in the afternoon.
Radical Self-Care Tip #4– Don’t use harsh chemical-based products on your face or Yoni.
They can cause more harm than good. Natural, organic, or even homemade facial and intimate products can be just as effective.
Radical Self-Care Tip #5– Avoid hot water.
Try not to use really hot water when you bathe, shower, or wash your face. Hot water can damage your skin by irritating it and taking away its natural oils. Consider a cold blast of water after your shower; even 30 seconds will be beneficial. Also, make sure you stay hydrated and drink the best water you can.
Radical Self-Care Tip #6– Berry nice.
A diet that includes blueberries, strawberries, cherries, cranberries, and raspberries can save your cells from getting old before their time. These berries are full of antioxidants, which have been shown in many studies to have the ability to fight off those nasty, age-inducing free radicals. I usually put them into my morning smoothie with my Total Fem Collagen, of course!
Radical Self-Care Tip #7– Brain Power.
Keep your brain young and healthy as well by reading, taking a class, joining a discussion group, or doing some brain teasers and crossword puzzles. A mind is, as they say, a terrible thing to waste. We’ve started doing family puzzles during quarantine, and the mind is sharp. Be on the lookout for my brand new supplement- Beautiful Brain…it’s the best formula on the market for boosting female cognitive function. Stay tuned!
Radical Self-Care #8– Get rid of the energy vampires in your life. Surround yourself with happy, positive people – they keep you feeling happy. Grumps and grouches only serve to keep you feeling down. You don’t have time for them.
Radical Self-Care Tip #9– Joy and laughter keep you young.
Stop being a grumpy lady and smile. Smile as much as you can (but not so much that you look like an idiot) because smiling makes you look and feel young. Plus, smiling attracts goodness to you.
Radical Self-Care Tip #10– Pay attention to your neck and decolletage
(chest area).
Sometimes we spend so much time taking care of our hands and face that we forget another area of our bodies that also shows obvious signs of aging: the neck and chest. Keep your neck and chest young by exfoliating them with a washcloth, applying sunblock, and keeping it moisturized.
Radical Self-Care #11– Stop being inflamed.
Inflammation has been linked to various signs of aging, including wrinkles, arthritis, and heart disease. Inflammation is even linked to pelvic and bladder issues. Reduce the negative effects of inflammation by cutting back on smoking, eating better, getting enough sleep, and staying out of the sun as much as possible.
Radical Self-Care Tip #12– Be fishy.
Cut back on those saturated fats and increase the amount of omega-3 fatty acids you consume. The omega-3 fats found in different types of fish (like salmon and sardines) can protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Radical Self-Care Tip #13– Don’t be a Pinocchio.
Avoid the stress that results from lying. If you are always telling people lies, big or small, you will always have to deal with the stress of maintaining the lies. Being honest with yourself and with others makes for a happier, healthier, and longer life. Listen more, react less.
Radical Self-Care Tip #14– Break out of your rut.
Routines can often make people feel old, tired, and predictable. Change your routine by taking a different route to work, eating lunch at a different restaurant, or talking to someone new at work. A new routine can lead to increased energy and a new outlook on daily life.
Radical Self-Care Tip #15– Expand your horizons.
Get yourself a cookbook, or sign-up for a cooking class ( they have virtual ones). Nutrition has as much to do with lifespan and longevity and anything else. By learning to cook your own foods, you can control just about every aspect of your diet, from flavor to calories.
Radical Self-Care Tip #16– Laugh your A^^ off.
Laughing is an exercise for the face. When you laugh, dozens of muscles are used to create a smile. The use of these muscles can lead to increased blood flow, leaving your skin looking pinker and more youthful. see tip #1
Radical Self-Care Tip #17– Be enzymatic.
As we grow older, our bodies begin to lose the ability to produce digestive enzymes, which are important to food breakdown. Adding sprouts and fermented foods to your diet can help replace some of those enzymes, as sprouts (which come from seeds that have begun to grow into vegetables) are very rich in enzymes.
Radical Self-Care Tip #18– Digital detox.
This is a hard one because it sucks us dry of our life force, and we don’t even recognize that it’s doing that. Instead of watching the news and scrolling through your social media feed, go outside, take a walk, make love, hug your partner, or enjoy a cup of tea. I recommend you put one of those apps on your phone or laptop that tells you how long you’ve been on social media. This will reveal the truth, plus all the FOMO (fear of missing out), plus the comparisons are making us sick as a collective.
Radical Self-Care Tip #19– The Pleasure Principle.
This is how I stay looking young and feel happy most days. I focus on my pleasure and my joy. My recommendation is to do at least one thing a day that makes you feel joyful and happy. Be selfish!
